Members of former President Trump's campaign and the Republican National Committee will hold a press conference Monday as the party's nominating convention gets underway in Milwaukee.

Trump said he considered delaying the start of the convention by two days after the assassination attempt against him at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, but he said he didn't want to allow the shooter "to force change to scheduling, or anything else."

Each of the first three days of the convention are set to focus on a different campaign theme, with economic issues the main topic for Monday.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
