Former President Trump has a 2.2 percentage point lead over Vice President Harris in the critical swing state of Michigan, a new poll found.
The survey, released Wednesday by the Trafalgar Group, asked likely voters in the Great Lakes State whom they would pick if the election were held tomorrow. Trump garnered 46.9 percent support compared to Harris's 44.7 percent.
Nearly 5 percent said they were undecided, and 3.5 percent said "other," according to the poll.
Among survey respondents, 35.9 percent were Democrats, 31.5 percent were Republicans, and 32.6 percent were independent.
A majority, 77 percent, were above the age of 40, and 74.6 percent were white. Black voters made up 14.6 percent, Asian and Hispanic voters made up just under 6 percent and roughly 5 percent identified as "other," the survey found.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows the Democratic nominee with a razor-thin lead — less than 1 point — over Trump in the battleground state, bringing in 48.4 percent support to the GOP nominee's 47.9 percent.
Respondents in the Trafalgar survey were also asked to weigh in on the Senate race between former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) and Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who are running to replace retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D).
Asked, if the election were held tomorrow, whom they would support, 47.4 percent backed Slotkin and 47 percent were loyal to Rogers. Around 5.5 percent said they were undecided, the poll found.
The survey was conducted Sept. 28-30 and had a 2.9 percent margin of error. Michigan is a swing state that could determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
