Lebanon pushes for UNIFIL extension without changes
BEIRUT: Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib reiterated Lebanon’s support for the extension of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon mandate for an additional year without any modifications to the existing resolution. The UN Security Council is expected to renew the peacekeeping mission’s mandate at the end of this month, as it has annually since Resolution 1701 was adopted in 2006 after a 33-day war between Lebanon and Israel.
